OVERVIEW.

Eco Tours Karnataka is a travel platform that helps tourists explore breathtaking destinations across Karnataka. Whether you're a beginner, an intermediate traveler, or an expert adventurer, the platform offers well-planned itineraries and travel packages at reasonable prices, ensuring unforgettable experiences for all age groups.

Challenges & UX Flaws Identified

The existing website had several usability issues that negatively impacted engagement and conversions:

  • Confusing navigation – Users struggled to find relevant travel plans

    and itineraries.

  • Unclear booking process – The booking flow was complex, causing drop-offs.

  • Lack of visual appeal – The outdated design failed to create excitement for travelers.

  • Low engagement – Users didn’t spend much time exploring the site.

Design Strategy & Process

As the sole UI/UX designer for this project, I led the entire redesign process:

  1. Stakeholder Discussions & Business Goals

    • Held in-depth discussions with stakeholders to understand their vision and expectations.

    • Defined key objectives: increase trip bookings, improve engagement, and enhance overall usability.

  2. Research & Planning

    • Conducted detailed research on the existing platform and competitor websites.

    • Analyzed user behavior to understand what worked and what didn’t.

    • Identified the best way to present itineraries, trip plans, and pricing for maximum impact.

  3. Design Execution

    • Wireframing & Prototyping – Created low-fidelity wireframes to map out the structure.

    • Mid & High-Fidelity Designs – Designed an engaging, modern UI that showcased destinations with immersive visuals.

    • User-Centric Booking Flow – Simplified the booking process to reduce drop-offs.

    • Interactive Features – Added travel recommendations, customer testimonials, and trip highlights for better user engagement.

  4. User Testing & Refinements

    • Conducted multiple rounds of user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure a seamless experience.

    • Gathered feedback and made data-driven improvements.
